We Are What We Eat

Through studying nutrition and energy flows, food affects not only our physical appearance but also contributes to our emotional and spiritual being. Our moods and feelings change depending on the things we eat.

I have recently tried Yanboot. A family business providing organic produce in hyper markets and some farmer's markets when available. It did draw me towards reading more about organic farming and the benefits that lie there. Discovering a deeper understanding of food and its 3 categories; Sattvic, Rajasic, and Tamasic Foods.

Sattvic foods, which organic foods fall under, are the ones we should be eating more of as they are easily digestible. They nourish the body, purify the mind and heal the imbalances in the body by generating good health.

The less chemicals these foods have the better the body's ability to generate good health, energy, vitality, vigor, mental alertness, peace and strength.

Try to look for foods rich in vitamins and minerals, vegetables, fruits, herbs; essential dietary fiber and carbohydrates required by the body include whole and unrefined grains; protein rich foods such as legumes, nuts, seeds, dairy; natural sweeteners such as honey and raw sugar, therapeutic spices in small quantities, olive oil and ghee in small quantities for the required fat in the body.

I'm still not into the vegetarian yoga diet plan. But I will give it a try to see how it affects my energy levels, feelings and emotions throughout the journey.
